Gaussmeter Basics

Recently, Jeff Dierker, Senior Consulting Engineer for Lake Shore, represented us at our booth at the Magnetics 2013 conference in Orlando, Florida. Jeff was kind enough to explain the basics of our Model 425 gaussmeter and the Model 410 hand-held gaussmeter.

These videos briefly explain the gaussmeter as a Hall effect gaussmeter, used to measure magnetic characteristics. As an adjunct to a fluxmeter, the gaussmeter measures external fields. Jeff explains how to measure a magnet with an axial probe and a transverse probe.
